Exhibition

The exhibition has different parts.
One part is about the history of Prohlis.
People were already living here in the Stone Age around 7,000 years ago.
You can see crockery and tools from that time.
And we show how Prohlis has changed to this day.

The second part is about Johann George Palitzsch.
He was actually a farmer.
But he was very interested in stars and planets.
In 1858 he recognised a celestial body through his telescope.
It was the comet Halley.it is near the earth about every 75 years.
After the discovery Palitzsch became very well known.

Stargazing is the third theme of the museum.
You will learn about travelling in space.
We use a device to show stars, planets and other celestial bodies.
This is also called a planetarium.
